"Lady Nafisa Secondary School, a project of the West London School of Islamic Studies, is guided by scholars and educators with a beautiful vision of Islam, the human being, and of our potential to seek Allah, and pursue the good of this life and the next. Its commitment to a holistic approach to learning, its commitment to excellence in both worldly and Islamic education, and its unique curriculum that combines "the best aspects of both western and Islamic educational models," are to be commended and supported. "
Shaykh Faraz Rabbani, Educational Director, SeekersGuidance (www.SeekersGuidance.org)
‘Learning is an obligation for all Muslims, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, which includes men and women both and both equally;
“The learning that is obligatory is so because knowledge is a means to know God and His creation, which is a condition of good worship”.
So learning must be in the right cultural context, meaning that students are not distracted from that purpose. That is why, given the conditions in this country, it is necessary for Muslims to provide special facilities for girls once they have reached secondary school age. I fully support the efforts of WLSIS to establish a secondary school for girls in West London.’
